Several years ago I retired from the corporate world. Being a creative person, I was unable to sit still and decided to return to school. After some careful thought, I attended Penn State’s Ice Cream course to learn the art of ice cream making. I returned home eager and excited. I teamed up with my wife, Lorraine, and began the search for the perfect location to open an ice cream shop.
Fate landed us on what is called the Town Green, on Main Street in Stowe; and I.C. Scoops was underway. That was the easy part. Now we had to purchase the right equipment and supplies.
Next came the renovating and decorating, along with finding the right staff. That was easy, as local teens were knocking on our door. Our homemade, all natural ice cream is made without preservatives, artificial flavors, or colors.
Today, I.C. Scoops is a favorite meeting place for both locals and visitors. We now serve 18 flavors along with premium quality creamees, yogurt, and fruit smoothies. Visit our scoop shop and meet our wonderful staff and see what all the fuss is about. Our ice cream is now sold in local restaurants and specialty shops. In order to accommodate the demand, Stowe Ice Cream Wholesale Division was created. So much for retirement.
